Sponsored by the Maryland Fire and Explosive Investigators Association, enhance your expertise as a fire investigator with specialized Appliance Fire training. Delve into an in-depth analysis of appliance-related fire incidents, covering origin determination, evidence preservation, and advanced investigative techniques. Elevate your investigative skills to unravel the intricacies of appliance-related fires with precision and thoroughness. The class will taught by ATF Electrical/Fire Research Engineer Ben Rouleau. The training includes lectures and practical exercises. Groups will be provided with small appliances to take apart, identify protective devices, modify to start a fire, and assess the post-fire damage. A test will be provided for attendees seeking certificates.
Please bring portable X-ray equipment if possible. Some X-ray platforms will be on-site. Lunch will be provided. The cost is $30 for MFEIA members and $40 for non-members.
