Course Description:
This 3-day residential training is designed to educate fire investigation supervisors and managers on effectively administering and leading a Fire Investigation Unit (FIU). Developed by subject matter experts and aligned with NFPA 1033, 921, and 1321 standards, the course provides a comprehensive approach to strengthening investigation quality, scene management, and overall work product. Participants will gain practical insight into managing FIU operations, developing policies and procedures, supporting investigator training and professional development, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory expectations. The curriculum also emphasizes report writing, case file management, and the effective application of investigative resources through real-world scenarios.
Pre-Requisites
Prior to this class, students should have completed the following CFITrainer.Net® programs:

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations received 31 days or more prior to the course start date are eligible for a full refund of the registration fee.
Cancellations received within 30 days of the course start date are non-refundable.
Registrants who are unable to attend may, at the discretion of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), substitute another eligible individual from the same organization, provided written notice is received prior to the course start date.
Failure to attend a course without prior written cancellation (no-shows) will not be eligible for a refund.
All IAAI courses are subject to cancellation or postponement at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. Registered participants will be notified as soon as possible.
