Expert Witness Courtroom Testimony

The overall goal of the Expert Witness Courtroom Testimony Course is to enable the applicants for the Certified Fire Investigator program to fulfill the court testimony requirements under "Experience Other (page 3)" of the CFI application process.

How to Facilitate the Expert Witness Courtroom Testimony Course in Your Chapter

A Memorandum of Understanding must be completed by IAAI chapters interested in presenting the Expert Witness Courtroom Testimony Course.

To become a chapter facilitator of the Expert Witness Courtroom Testimony Course for your chapter, you must have the following qualifications and documents:
  • Current IAAI-CFI®
  • Level 1 Instructor or Equivalent
  • 2 Expert testimonies in trial or deposition stating your opinion in O & C matters
  • C.V. listing education, training and experience
  • Three (3) references who can attest to your instructing experience
  • Chapter Facilitator application signed by the President of your Chapter
