Instructors: Explosives Section
Chris Tuitele is a Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and has been employed by ATF since 2009. He is a Certified Explosives Specialist (CES) and a Public Safety Bomb Technician. He is also an ATF Firearms Interstate Nexus Expert who testifies about the origin of manufacturing of firearms, a key required element to many federal firearms laws.

C. “Todd” Smith is a Senior Special Agent (SA) with ATF based in Spokane, Washington, with 24 years of law enforcement experience (17 with ATF). He is a Certified Explosives Specialist (CES) and recently completed the Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) program. His project for the ATF CFI program was exploding targets
and wildland fire causation. SA Smith is a member of the IAAI and the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI).

Jeff Laverman is a Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and has been employed by ATF since 1989. He is a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) and a Certified Explosives Specialist (CES). He is a member of ATF’s National Response Team starting in 1997, becoming a full-time member in 2010, with over 100 callouts.

David E. Bridges is an associate in Meagher & Geer, P.L.L.P.'s Catastrophic Loss Practice Group. His practices focuses on complex civil litigation, including fires, explosions, fire protection system failures, product failures, and other catastrophic losses and construction-related incidents across the United States. His assignments include forensic investigations of first-property and other catastrophic losses, including fires and explosions involving industrial, commercial, and residential facilities, agricultural and other commercial equipment and motor vehicles, and marine vessels. David brings the science and law together to investigate these incidents and provide defense and recovery representation. He is an International Association of Arson Investigation Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI) and Certified Instructor (IAAI-CI). Prior to law school, David performed fire and explosion investigations in conjunction with his work as a special agent / K-9 handler with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI). He currently serves on the IAAI-Board of Directors and is the Co-Chair of the IAAI’s Training & Education (T&E) Committee. David also serves as an Adjunct Instructor for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives’ (ATF) and National Fire Academy’s (NFA) fire and explosion training programs.

Late Registration will not be allowed due to the venue

needs. No single hotel has been reserved for this event.
