USAA-SIU Large Property Loss Investigator

Job Summary:
Provides specialized investigative and advisory services to Large Loss Property Claims units on complex fire losses involving questionable, suspect, or fraudulent claims activity. Works with law enforcement, fire and other related agencies to investigate potential for arson, concealment, and misrepresentation. Works under minimal supervision to perform work assignments and problem resolution. Participates in the development of fraud prevention strategies and independently completes investigations.

Location: 
This is a field position.  Chosen candidate will work out of their home.  We are interested in candidates residing in the Northeastern States.  Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia are preferred.  Candidate must reside within an hour of a major airport, as regular travel will be required.  

Preferred Requirements:
Experience investigating large fire and arson losses
The ability to travel on short notice for several days at a time.
Reside within 60 miles of a major Airport
2+ years of property claims adjusting experience
3 years of former SIU investigative experience
Combination of Claims and Law Enforcement experience
Ability to use public record systems and/or claims databases to support investigations
Demonstrated ability to manage complex fraud cases and/or rings
Proficiency in establishing, documenting, and pursuing appropriate investigative strategies
Professional designations related to fire investigation (e.g. IAAI-CFI, IAAI-FIT)
Location: Northeastern States. Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia are preferred.
