As a Deputy State Fire Marshal, you will oversee, coordinate, and provide fire and life safety code interpretation and enforcement, fire origin and cause investigations, and other fire prevention services. You may also respond to all large-scale hazard emergencies across the state as needed.

The Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM) in Salem, Oregon is hiring for one (1) full-time, permanent Emergency Response Unit Manager (Fire Protection and Community Risk Manager 2) position.
 
As the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) Manager, you will be responsible for managing key OSFM programs and their staff including the Oregon Fire Mutual Aid System, Incident Management Team Program, and the Oregon Fire Service Mobilization Plan. Amongst other responsibilities, this includes developing and maintaining working relationships with local, state, federal, tribal, private industry response officials, and representatives of under-served communities; administration and oversight of interagency response agreements; representing the OSFM on advisory committees, task forces, and other work groups; directing, in person, the activities of OSFM’s Agency Operations Center in Salem during emergency responses; and overseeing the implementation of the Oregon Fire Mutual Aid System (OFMAS) regionally, statewide, and interstate.
