City of Caldwell-Fire Prevention Officer

The principal function of an employee in this class is to assist the Fire Marshal in conducting day-to-day tasks of the Fire Prevention Division. This position requires extensive communication and participation with the public in regard to plan review of new construction; fire suppression systems; fire alarm systems; fire investigations; all hazard injury and loss prevention education; implantation and management of data driven risk reduction efforts/programs, protecting the community through code enforcement efforts; and promoting an environment of public safety within the City of Caldwell and the Caldwell Rural Fire Protection District. The work is performed under the supervision of the Assistant Fire Marshal. In the absence of the Assistant Fire Marshal and Fire Marshal the temporary responsibility may be assigned for some or all of the responsibility and tasks. Work is performed in an office and field environment and may be subject to potential personal danger during frequent and regular on-site field inspections or at emergency scenes. May be required to travel locally and out of state for training, or as assigned.
 
Location: Caldwell, Idaho
Compensation: Grade 7 Officer I (Firefighter) $24.27 - $27.74 Grade 9 Officer II (Driver) $29.37 – $33.56 Grade 10 Officer III (Captain) $33.09 - $36.25
